Eiffel Tower

Eiffel tower
This is the most visited payed monument in the world - and therefore perhaps the most photographed. Probably there is nothing original in this picture but somehow it feels like approaching the tower from a different angle!

Autumn in Porvoo

Ship in the river, Porvoo
Porvoo is a medieval town 50 km east of Helsinki. The city's tourist attraction is the old town with the wooden houses and the paved streets. On the top of the hill rises the old church which was damaged by fire on 29 May 2006 and eventually rebuilt.

Wooden storage houses, Porvoo
On the east side of the river, the old wooden storage houses will trigger the visitor's attention. Painted red, they stand just above the river bank and captivate the eye. Being proposed as an UNESCO world heritage site, city authorities realized the potential value and began building the new part of the city following the same pattern

Tulips!

Parc de Bercy, Paris
Holland may be considered by many as the "capital" of tulips (even though tulips come from the East) but during an April visit in France, you may reconsider... Spring is all over Paris and will seduce your eyes with colors!

Rhodes

Detail in the old city of Rhodes.

Rhodes island in the South East of Greece is a famous summer tourist destination. This is where one of the seven wonders of the ancient world was located. The "Colossus of Rhodes" was a statue representation of god Helios and stood over the port entrance of the city.
The medieval city and the palace of the Grand Master of the Knights can travel your thoughts in a world long forgotten! Sad but true, because of the great number of visitors in some cases the old city looks like it has lost its charm. Nevertheless it remains a great place to visit which will prove even better if you avoid peak tourist periods!

Retro camera

Old school...
A gift from the elders! This camera was handed over to its previous owner somewhere in the '50s. It was used for over 5 decades to capture family moments including the writer's childhood. Still functional after all these years, it is ready for action, giving a different taste if film prints. Who says that our high tech cameras will last more than a quarter of its life?

Colmar

Reflections
Colmar is located south of Strasbourg in the region of Alsace, France. A small town nevertheless known for its beautiful Petit Venice district (among others). You may visit the city for a daily excursion and try local cheese or wine since the city considers itself to be the "Capital of Alsatian Wine". Colmar might as well be your base to visit some Alsatian villages such as Kayserberg, Riquewihr, Obernai and others.

Petit Venice
Petite Venise is a district named after the scenery created by the river Lauch and the colorful houses on its banks. When the weather allows it, row boats will take you through this small canal where you may also enjoy your drink or food.
